The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and the City of Ishpeming have scheduled a public information meeting for this summer’s project to construct two roundabouts at the intersection of US-41/M-28 and Second Street, and on Second Street in Ishpeming.
MDOT plans to convert the intersection of US-41/M-28 and Second Street in Ishpeming to a roundabout. The project will include traffic signal removal, drainage improvements, lighting, new signs, and pavement markings. In addition to the MDOT project, the City of Ishpeming plans to realign Third Street and Second Street, as well as build a single-lane roundabout to connect the two streets. Construction is expected to begin in early May and be complete in late September.
