In March 2011, Jacob Stieler was first diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare cancer that is found in the bones as well as soft tissue. Jacob underwent surgery to remove the tumor. Unfortunately, Jacob’s cancer returned in his spine in September 2012. The Stieler’s were sent to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin located in Milwaukee, WI. Jacob, once again, had surgery to remove most of the tumor and recovered quickly. Following successful treatment, Jacob continued to grow cancer free! In February 2016, Jacob’s cancer came back again in the form of a brain tumor. He was immediately flown to the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin again and prepped for surgery to remove the tumor. Now that the tumor has been removed, Jacob will be travelling to undergo further treatments.
Throughout this entire journey, Jacob has remained positive and has a wonderful sense of humor! He is actively involved in his Church community. He is 14 years old, a freshman at Gwinn High School and enjoyed running cross country this year. Jacob loves hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with his family.
