Six-Week Workshop from January 21-February 25
Thursday’s from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
This six-week workshop is a combination of presentations, shooting assignments, critiques and photo transfers. The class will focus on basic principles of photography; such as exposure, composition, light, shape, color, and contrast. Students will engage photography as a medium and a practice through technical assignments and critical discussion. They will be introduced to contemporary, critical perspectives as they explore different genres of photography.
The aim of this workshop is to teach students how to apply their technical and conceptual skills towards transferring their photographs onto different surfaces. Each student will pick a theme/concept and work on it for the duration of the class to develop a series of photographs, and then will transfer those photographs on to a medium of their own choice.
By the end of the course, each student should have a better understanding of how to use a camera and take photographs that are unique, informed and meaningful.
All classes will take place at the City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center, which is located in the lower level of the Peter White Public Library. For more information or questions, please contact (906) 228-0472 or email email@example.com.
