The second annual Baraga Avenue Harvest Fest presented by New Holland Carhartt Woodsman Beer takes over the 100 block of West Baraga Avenue in Downtown Marquette on Saturday, October 11, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Bustling with harvest themed activities, the event includes:

•Street Dance
•Live Bands
•Craft Beer
•Living Statues
•Pasty Eating Competition sponsored by Jean Kays Pasties
•Carhartt Fashion Show, featuring local celebrities
•Getz’s Clothiers Tent Sale
•Paint Baraga Avenue Chalk Painting Contest, hosted by the U.P. Children’s Museum
•Flower Crafts
•Carhartt and Downtown Trivia
•Big Equipment Petting Zoo
•Children’s Activities
•Photo Booth
•Food Vendors, including Stuckos Pub & Grill, Das Steinhaus, Dia de los Tacos, Donckers, Jimmy Krack Korn, T’s Taste of Chicago and Ellie Ears

Sidewalk sales, information tents and booths from several downtown district businesses and local artisans round out the day’s offerings.

Do you love those flaky pastries filled with meat, potatoes, spices and veggies? Jean Kays Pasties will be sponsoring a Pasty Eating Competition at the Baraga Avenue Harvest Festival! The first 25 to sign up the day-of the festival will be entered into a speed-based competition where they’ll devour one pasty in record time. The top finalists will then be entered into the final round to name the fastest pasty nosher in the nation!
