Escanaba woman pleads guilty to embezzlement
ESCANABA — An Escanaba woman charged with stealing from a veteran will soon face her sentencing.
37-year-old Frances Kreft pleaded guilty to “embezzlement from a vulnerable adult, $20,000 to $50,000.” She will be sentenced for that charge on April 15th. According to the Michigan Penal Code, this is a 10 year, $15,000 felony.
Kreft was arrested in November after an investigation into the missing funds of a Jacobetti resident. She was originally arraigned in Delta County District Court on one count of “embezzlement from a vulnerable adult, $100,000 or more.” She was then bound over to Circuit Court, where she made her guilty plea.
