Escanaba drug bust suspect enters plea agreement

ESCANABA — An Escanaba man arrested along with thirteen others in an UPSET drug bust late last month has entered into a plea agreement.

28-year-old Mitchel Melin pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of attempted delivery of the drug buprenorphine in Delta County Circuit Court. As part of the plea agreement, the original charge of delivery and manufacture of the drug will be dismissed. Melin’s sentencing is scheduled for June 3rd.

Another of the fourteen suspects, 29-year-old Jaclyn Snouwaert was also set for a plea hearing today, but it was rescheduled to May 1st.
