Escanaba basketball player will play at Finlandia

An Escanaba student-athlete will continue his basketball career at the collegiate level in the U.P.

The Eskymos’ Brandon Robinette has committed to Finlandia University to play basketball for the Lions starting next season for new head coach Mike O’Donnell.

Robinette is a 6’5″ forward who averaged 17.7 points and 9.1 rebounds per game as a senior this winter. He helped the Eskymos win a district title in the process. Robinette made it onto the All-U.P. Dream Team and was this year’s MVP of the Great Northern Conference.

Justin Nyquist of Gwinn has also committed to Finlandia to play basketball since O’Donnell left Negaunee High School to become the Lions’ head coach less than three weeks ago.
