The United States ranks 73rd in the world for female representation in government
And for one group at Northern Michigan University, there’s a plan to change that trend.
“Elect Her” is a free student leadership conference.
The agenda features many aspiring leaders as well as team activities.
Organizers hope this event will encourage women to become more involved in politics at the student level and beyond.
One of the biggest obstacles for woman is just getting out there and running for office.
The conference continues until 9 tonight and is being held at Starbucks in the bottom of the LRC on the campus of NMU.
