A total of eight wolves have now been killed in the U.P. Wolf Hunt.

According to the Department of Natural Resources, one wolf was killed in Wolf Management Unit A in Gogebic County yesterday bringing the tally there up to two.

Unit C, which covers parts of Luce and Mackinac Counties, has still only claimed one wolf.

Five wolves have been taken in Unit B which includes portions of Gogebic, Baraga, Houghton and Ontonagon Counties

A total of only 43 wolves can be harvested during the hunting season, which is only in effect in those three areas. The wolf season will continue until New Year’s Eve or until the 43-wolf limit is reached, whichever comes first.
