MARQUETTE — There’s a group in Marquette that’s very close to raising all of the money that they need for an upcoming trip.

They’re hoping that one more fundraiser will put them right at their goal. The group known as ‘She Believed’ at Marquette Alternative High School, is hosting a spaghetti dinner a week from Friday at Vandenboom.

‘She Believed’ is a program that’s dedicated to inspiring girls. The organization is going to be sending a group of girls to Washington D.C. next month for a once in a lifetime trip.

“I feel that doing this trip brings a lot of opportunities to me, especially because I haven’t got to go anywhere other than Marquette or Wisconsin,” said Brianna Peterson, a junior at the high school. “It’s pretty cool to go see our country’s capital.”

“This group has done a lot personally for me,” said Lexi Wood, a junior at Marquette Alternative. “It’s built my self–esteem up a lot and I also feel like I became closer to more people, I can make more friends and I can reach out to anyone here and they’ll be there for me.”

The spaghetti dinner runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 22nd

Tickets are $10 per person or $25 per family.
