Earthkeepers Faith Group Puts Down Roots

Faith communities spanning the Upper Peninsula put aside their differences and come together to mark Earth Day.

10 faith traditions joined up today to celebrate the occasion by planting trees in Marquette’s Presque Isle Park.

The effort is more than a conservation project for them; it marks a shared commitment to care for the planet.

This is the 5th year U.P. Earthkeepers have launched an Earth Day project.

And it’s not the only time they’re putting down roots.

On May 3rd, representatives from all 10 faith traditions will be planting more trees all over the U.P.

The effort involves more than 150 churches.

If you’re interested in a tree for your church or temple from the Earthkeepers, they say you can call them at 228-2388.
