ISHPEMING TWP — A traffic stop lead to the finding of drugs and a shotgun in a now ongoing investigation.
On Friday night just before 9:00 p.m. – Ishpeming Township Police officers reportedly pulled over a pick up truck for having no tail lights.
The female driver of the car was found to have a suspended license and the male passenger claimed to be the owner of the vehicle, which did not have proper registration or insurance. Both were released without a citation.
Later on the vehicle was searched before it was impounded and officials reportedly found concealed marijuana, drug paraphernalia, open intoxicants and a shotgun without a serial number.
The investigation will be submitted to the Prosecutor’s office for charges stemming from the vehicle search.
