NEWBERRY — The case against two Newberry drug suspects is moving forward while a third has plead out.

Kenneth Collins, 41, and Joy Derusha, 37, will return to court March 17th for a pretrial. Their co-defendant Sara Nelson, 26, will be sentenced April 21st.

Nelson plead guilty to two counts of delivery of a controlled substance less than 50 grams. She was originally facing six counts, three of delivery of Ritalin within 1,000ft of school property and three of maintaining a drug house.

Collins still faces three counts of delivery of heroin within 1,000ft of school property and three counts of maintaining a drug house. Derusha is charged with two counts of delivery of morphine within 1,000ft of school property, imitation substance within 1,000ft of school property and three counts of maintaining a drug house.

All three were arrested in January following an investigation by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team – East.
