Drug Busts & Seizures for UPSET

It’s a busy week for the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team.

UPSET says they’ve arrested 17 people since Wednesday on a drug sweep through 5 U.P. counties.

The warrants were for addresses in Delta, Iron, Marquette, Menominee and Schoolcraft counties.

The charges include delivery and possession of marijuana, cocaine, heroin and various pills.

UPSET says they worked for a long time with the FBI to develop the case.

Other suspects have arrest warrants pending against them as well.

If police find them all, the number of arrests could double.

UPSET has also found more than 1,200 marijuana plants in Operation HEMP.

Each plant is worth at least $1,000 on the street.

So, it’s more than $1.2 million at a bare minimum.

The plants were in 12 of the U.P.’s 15 counties.

And UPSET says they have arrest warrants pending on 6 different people for them.
