Driver strikes vehicle in ditch, one man injured
One man was injured after a two car accident in Houghton County Wednesday morning.
The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department says the accident happened just before 11:30 in Franklin Township on Coal Dock Road.
A 62-year-old Dollar Bay man was pulling a trailer and had slid into the ditch. As he was attempting to disconnect the trailer, the man’s vehicle was hit by another vehicle driven by a 37-year-old Hancock woman.
Police say the woman attempted to slow down, but the vehicle lost control due to ice on the road.
The man was injured in the accident and was transported to Portage Heath by Mercy Ambulance.
The Dollar Bay First Responders and Franklin Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.
