Driver injured in US-41 accident
A Marquette man is recovering from minor injuries after a traffic accident in Marquette Township.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened on US-41 in front of the Lowe’s store at about 7:45 this morning.
Clifford Dice, 51, of Bay City was entering the road from the Lowe’s driveway. Police say he drove his pickup truck into the path of a westbound vehicle driven by 33-year-old Neil Bonetti of Marquette.
Bonetti was taken to Marquette General Hospital with minor injuries. Police gave Dice a ticket for failure to yield the right of way. Both vehicles sustained major damage, and traffic in both eastbound lanes on US-41 was diverted for nearly an hour.
Marquette Township Fire and Rescue and Marquette General EMS assisted the Sheriff’s Department at the scene.
