Driver hits tree in one car accident
HOUGHTON — Earlier this afternoon, the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office got word of a one-car accident on US-41 about a half mile north of Broemer Road in Chassell Township.
Lynn McCabe of Lake Linden was traveling northbound on US-41 when she failed to turn with the curve in the road and veered off the roadway in the southbound lane. She then struck a tree after going into the ditch where her 2014 Chevy full size truck pulling a trailer came to a rest.
She was wearing a seat-belt and airbags were deployed during the crash. The sheriff’s department was assisted at the scene by Houghton Police, Mercy Ambulance, Chassell Fire Department, and First Responders and Superior Service Towing.
