Downstate Men Arrested for Stupak Threats

Two downstate men are arrested for conspiring to threaten Congressman Bart Stupak.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Bay City says the two men are 73-year-old Russell Hesch of downstate West Branch and his son, 50-year-old David Hesch of Loveland, Colorado.

Court documents say Stupak’s office in Menominee received a letter about two weeks ago.

The letter apparently threatened the Congressman, his wife and their son.

The threats were allegedly related to Stupak’s vote for the health care reform bill.

A lawyer for Russell Hesch tells the Associated Press his client is not guilty.
