Domestic Violence Case Leads to Tasering
A domestic violence disturbance in Marquette Township sends a man to the hospital and another to jail.
The county sheriff’s office says a deputy and a state trooper responded to a domestic disturbance call Sunday night involving a couple and a man who’d been bit by a pitbull.
The police report says Joseph Charles Johnson was arguing with his fiancee in a home on Fair Avenue when a man staying in the home intervened.
The 2 men were fighting when the report says Johnson called for his pitbull to attack.
The man who intervened received a puncture wound to his chest and other small cuts that sent him to Marquette General for treatment.
When police arrived, Johnson is said to have pushed the deputy in the chest, and that’s when the state trooper tasered Johnson.
Johnson is being charged with felonious assault, resisting and obstructing an officer, domestic violence and assault and battery.
He’s in the Marquette County Jail on $50,000 bond.
