Domestic Problems May Have Led to Murder-Suicide

Police are trying to piece together the circumstances that led to a murder-suicide in Amasa.

Iron County sheriff’s deputies found 64-year-old Max Grengs and his wife, 45-year-old Shelly Grengs, dead at their home yesterday afternoon.

They got the call at about 3:30 Central time.

The Grengses lived at 248 Townline Road in Amasa.

Police believe Max Grengs murdered Shelly and then killed himself.

They say a preliminary investigation found possible domestic problems between them.

The Grengses had several children, but none of them were home at the time.
