Dickinson County Wal-Mart thief to receive sentencing

IRON MOUNTAIN — The man who ripped off the Iron Mountain Wal-Mart will know his punishment come March.

A judge will pass sentencing on Steven Gerow, 24, of Norway, on March 16th.

Gerow had originally plead not guilty to three charges: two counts of first degree retail fraud and one count in the second degree. He was charged as a third offense habitual offender. He later had a change of heart and plead guilty to a single count of first degree retail fraud.

Gerow was arrested last June after Wal-Mart filed a fraud complaint with the Iron Mountain Police Department. When officers arrived on scene they found Gerow fleeing the retail company’s loss prevention staff and made the arrest.
