Dickinson Co. marijuana bust

A parole violation has led to a marijuana bust in Dickinson County.

Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain Post say it happened in Channing at about 2 p.m. Central time Wednesday.

State troopers and agents from the Michigan Department of Corrections Parole Division went to a home to find a suspect who had been wanted on a parole violation.

When they arrived, they noticed the smell of marijuana inside the home.

After they obtained a search warrant for the house, they found a marijuana growing operation inside.

Troopers say they seized growing plants and processed material worth more than $121,500 in street value.

They also seized growing and processing equipment.

Police arrested the suspect and brought him to the Dickinson County Correctional Center.

The suspect’s name won’t be available until after arraignment in 95B District Court.
