Dianda spells out priorities at start of new term
ISHPEMING TOWNSHIP — State Representative Scott Dianda was sworn into office yesterday in Ishpeming Township. This will be his second term in the Michigan House.
Dianda represents 24 school districts, 50 townships, six full counties and part of another county. Along with looking into getting state money for winter snow damage from last year that was promised, he already has a few other priorities on tap as his first orders of business.
“Power, our cost is one of the highest in the nation. We are looking at being able to grow business and we need more power to do that. I am a big fan of woody biomass to be able to burn wood chips. We need to be able to generate our own power like we have in the past,” Dianda said. “The other thing is County Road 595. It’s important to Marquette County. It’s important to the U.P. and we have got to get it done to be able to show that we have progress to be able to get a lot of other projects done.”
Dianda serves the 110th House District and was first elected in 2012.
