Fire raging at apartment complex in Detroit
Firefighters are working to put out a four-alarm fire this morning on Detroit’s west side.
According to a report by WXYZ in Detroit, the fire is happening at an apartment complex at the 21000 block of Jason Street near Schoolcraft Street, just off the Jeffries Freeway. A portion of the complex has been destroyed by the fire.
Dispatchers tell WXYZ that the fire is still ripping throughout the building, and that rescues are underway.
The report says that residents were jumping to safety while still wearing their pajamas. EMS crews have also been called to the scene.
