Deputies lend a helping hand to occupants of a stuck pickup

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Sheriff’s deputies brought out their snowmobiles Wednesday night to aid a group of individuals stuck on an unplowed Upper Peninsula road.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened around 10:00 p.m. on Forestville Road just north of Beagle Club Road in Marquette Township. A group of five individuals, including a Maruqette man and four downstate residents, were headed north on Forestville Road in a pickup. They were driving on an unplowed section of the road when they came upon an abandoned vehicle blocking the way.

The group was trying to back out of the area when they became stuck. Deputies were able to transport them out by snowmobile. Police say the owners of the vehicle are responsible for removing it.
