Delta Animal Shelter on the move starting Saturday

ESCANABA — Pets awaiting adoption in Delta County are getting closer to moving into their new shelter.

The Delta Animal Shelter in Escanaba announced that their current facility will be closing its doors to the public at 3:00 p.m. Saturday. They’ll be moving the pets into their new facility on County Road 426 during a “parade of animals” Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., and will host a ribbon cutting on January 22nd at noon. The new facility’s first public open house will be on February 7th.

To help find homes for many of the pets before the move takes place, the shelter is offering any cat free of charge with donation through Saturday, and most dogs are available for a reduced adoption rate as well.
