Deer causes crash in Ontonagon County

A deer is to blame for an accident in which two cars were heavily damaged on Wednesday morning.

The crash happened just before 6:00 a.m. Brian Rimpela, of Hancock, was traveling westbound on M-26 when a deer ran out into the middle of the road. Rimpela swerved to avoid hitting the deer, sending his car into the opposite lane which then collided with an eastbound vehicle being driven by Richard Budd of Trout Creek.

Both Rimpela and Budd sought their own medical attention and the two vehicles were towed away from the scene.
