Deer causes car crash on M-69
27 year-old Shannon Knipp was driving with her three children on M-69 near Dawson Lake Road in Iron County when a deer jumped in front of the vehicle around 1:00p.m. this afternoon causing a crash.
Knipp swerved to avoid hitting the deer and her car ran off the road, rolled on its side, then landed back-end up. Everyone was taken to Northstar Health System for non-life threatening injuries. Seatbelts and car restraints were in use and the family has been released from the hospital.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police, Iron Mountain Post, deputies from the Iron County Sheriff’s department, and the Northstar EMS responded to the accident.
