Daniels awaits his next NFL shot

The road to playing in the National Football League has been filled with numerous ups and downs for former Northern Michigan University offensive lineman Jace Daniels.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Daniels back in May. He was on the Buccaneers roster until the team waived him on Aug. 31.

On Sept. 1, Daniels re-signed with the Bucs and he was placed on the team’s practice squad. Tampa Bay then released Daniels from the practice squad not even two days later in order to sign a wide receiver.

Daniels is now back in Marquette training with the NMU football team, as he waits for his next opportunity in the NFL.

“It was a humbling experience going from the practice squad and making it to being cut within the next 24 hours or so,” said Daniels. “I feel like they (Tampa Bay) really liked me and that’s what they’ve been saying. They really want me back there. It all depends on how it goes throughout the season with injuries.”

Daniels play in all four of Tampa Bay’s preseason games. His agent has been in contact with several NFL teams, including the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Giants.
