Credit card fraud affecting U.P. banks

Banks and credit unions in the Upper Peninsula are warning customers about an on going fraud involving credit cards.

Marquette Community Federal Credit Union said customers cannot use their debit cards for transactions that require a signature.  Debit cards can still be used for PIN–based transactions.

Range Bank, the U.P. Catholic Credit Union, and Wells Fargo are all affected.

There is no timeline for when the problem will be fixed.

The fraud was detected earlier today downstate.
