NORWAY — The second craft and vendor show fundraiser for the Jake Menghini Museum is coming up soon.
A large part of what makes this museum unique is the way that it is set–up. The facades and interior structuring of a school, businesses, a jail cell, along with plenty of Vulcan–made bricks make the museum a microcosm of the way things used to be. The craft and vendor show was designed to help keep up with operating costs.
“It (the museum) really has no revenue source of its own,” said Museum Board of Directors President William Trombley, “we charge three dollars to get in and we have a membership thing for people to support the museum. We’ve had a fundraiser here or there, but without some kind of revenue, we get some from the city, and we used to get some from the county, we don’t at this point. This is one thing we came up with as a replacement.”
Over 40 vendors are scheduled to be in attendance. The event takes place on Saturday at the Norway Legion Hall from 9 am until 2 pm. Admission is only one dollar per person.
