UPDATE: Covington Twp. home invasion

More information has been released in connection to a home invasion in Covington Township.

Police say the incident happened just before 5 p.m. Thursday in Watton.

Two suspects posed as U.S. Marshalls and demanded $10,000 ransom from family members, while threatening to shoot them.  The victims were unharmed, but the suspects stole a handgun and their identifications.

Police say the suspects are driving a Cadillac Escalade pick–up truck and were last seen driving east on M-28.

One suspect is described as a white male in his early 20’s with a darker complexion and about six feet tall, and weighs 185 pounds.  He has short brown hair with teal green eyes and a goatee.  The suspect was wearing a white shirt with blue, brown, and red stripes.

The second suspect is described as a white male in his early 20’s, also with a darker complexion.  He is about 5′ 8″ tall with brown hair and weights 165 pounds.  He was wearing a black sweatshirt and red jogging pants.

Michigan State Police from the Baraga Detachment are looking for help solving an armed robbery and home invasion.

It happened in Covington Township at about 10:00 Thursday night.

The victims told police that two white men with dark complexions, wearing hooded sweatshirts, forced their way into the house. One of the suspects was armed with a long gun.

Police say the two men stole wallets, identification and a handgun. The victims saw the suspects leave in a white Cadillac Escalade EXT.
