Three U.P. counties rank in the top 10 in the latest county-by-county health ratings for michigan.

At a luncheon today, members of the community were presented with the health rankings.

Alger County came in at #5, Houghton County at #8 and Marquette County at #10.

On the other hand, Ontonagon County was #79, ranking it in the bottom 5.

Audience members were shown the health factors in which Marquette County ranks high, as well as areas that need improvement.

The purpose for the presentation was not just to discuss numbers, but to decide what can be done next to help improve the counties’ health statistics.
