Church wants to give back with proceeds from estate sale

MARQUETTE — A group of teenagers that belong to a local church have big plans for the upcoming summer. In order to make those plans a reality, they need to raise a little money.

First Presbyterian Church of Marquette is hosting an Estate Sale at the church tomorrow. An individual who recently passed away left their entire estate to the church.

Everything from small appliances to shirts and blankets are for sale. Instead of taking a big trip across the country like they do every year, the church is planning on doing something a little different this summer.

“What we’re hoping to do is find a church group in a large city and bring them here to the U.P. and show them what the U.P. does for people living in poverty or people that need help with homes and to show them a little bit about this beautiful, natural environment that we live in,” said Jenny Cammarata, the Christian Education Director at First Presbyterian Church.

The Estate Sale runs Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. First Presbyterian Church is at 120 N. Front Street in Marquette.
