MARQUETTE — There’s a big competition coming up this weekend and we’re not talking about the game between the Broncos and the Panthers.
The Seventh Annual Chocolate Festival is set to take place this Sunday at NMU. The event is being put on by the Superior Alliance for Independent Living.
Fourteen different restaurants and businesses will each put their own unique spin on chocolate.
“I leave the creative license up to the chocolatiers so they can make it a sweet chocolate tasting thing or they can make it savory. It’s up to them,” said Jessica Manier, a Transition Services Specialist for SAIL. “We’ve had in the past chocolate chili, chocolate covered peppers and we’ve had cupcakes.”
Some of the money raised at the event will go towards taking veterans on day trips and adventures.
The Chocolate Festival is from 1 to 3 p.m. inside the Great Lakes Room at NMU. Tickets are $10 a person or $25 for a family of up to five people.
