Thanks to a quick response by the Ishpeming City Fire Department, a house is still standing tonight.

Firefighters were called to a house on the corner of North Street and Second Street just after 9:00 p.m. Neighbors saw flames shooting out of the top of the  house. It turned out to be a chimney fire.  Firefighters were able to contain the flames and sparks shooting out of the chimney fairly quickly. No one was injured in the fire.
