Charges filed in February crash
The Ontonagon County Prosecutor has authorized criminal charges for the driver of a pickup truck that caused a three vehicle personal injury traffic crash in February. That accident happened February 3, at approximately 2:00 pm CST, on Highway U.S. 45, near Woodspur Road in Ontonagon Township.
17 year old Zachary Seid of Rockland has been charged with one count of Operating While Intoxicated Causing Serious Injury. This is a Felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison and/or $1,000-$5,000 fine.
His juvenile female passenger was charged with Use of Marijuana. Seld is lodged in the Ontonagon County Jail.
Troopers from the Wakefield State Police Post were assisted in the investigation at the scene of the crash by the Ontonagon County Sheriff Department, U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement Division, Ontonagon Volunteer Fire Dept, Rockland Volunteer Fire Dept, and Sonco North Ambulance.
