Channing man rolls vehicle while avoiding deer

A 21-year-old Channing man is recovering from injuries sustained during a rollover accident in Breitung Township early Tuesday morning.

Troopers from the Iron Mountain Post of the Michigan State Police responded to the scene on Highway M-95 north of M-69 shortly after 12:30 a.m. to investigate the personal injury accident. Police say Joseph Hruska was traveling north on M-95 when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer, causing the vehicle to run off the roadway and roll over. Hruska was later transported to the Dickinson County Hospital for unknown injuries. Police say he was wearing his seat belt at the time and alcohol use is not suspected.

Troopers were assisted on scene by Star EMS, Beacon Ambulance, and the Sagola Township Fire Department.
