The roller coaster ride at the gas pump is getting a little faster.
AAA Michigan reports the current statewide average for regular gas is $4.15 a gallon.
But, motorists in the U.P. found some skyrocketing prices at area gas stations today.
The price is now at a whopping $4.34 a gallon at many of them.
The early-morning AAA Fuel Gauge survey of 2,800 gas stations around the state shows the average price of gas at $4.15.
That’s up four cents from yesterday, 30 cents from a month ago and a painful $1.26 more than at this time last year.
The lowest price for gas in the state is in the Lansing/East Lansing area at just over $4.10 a gallon.
Marquette takes the title of having the highest price, at just under $4.20 a gallon.
