GARDEN —  State recreation officials announce that the Fall Fest to end all Fall Fests will be held at Fayette Historic State Park on October 4th.  Get out your camper or tent and come enjoy the fall colors before old man winter covers the landscape.  This annual event is hosted by the Department of Natural Resources’ Parks and Recreation Division.

This year’s theme is “The Wonderful World of TV!!” Join park staff in celebrating “The Idiot Box” and all the fun it has to offer! Become your favorite TV character and celebrate with us for the day.

If you are a camper, join the campsite decorating contest – the winner will be selected by your camping peers!  Day users make a pass through the campground on one of the hayrides to experience the spirit of Halloween.

On October 4th, hayrides will start from both the campground & Visitor Center parking lot at 10:30 am and will be running back & forth from the historic townsite through 2:00 pm.  Activities that will thrill both young & young at heart will be ongoing at various locations within the historic townsite from 11 am until 2:15 pm including; “Cash Cart”; “Minute to Lose It”; a bouncy house; “Amazing Clue”; “OutdoorMan”; “FSPN Fan Zone”; cartoon art project; “Angry Fowl”; “Amazing Clue”; “TV Dinner” hot dog concession; Plus other kid’s activities and a Ghost Hunting 101 clinic presented by The Upper Peninsula Spook Team (UPST).

At 2:15 pm the Halloween costume contest will be held on the Hotel porch. Immediately following the costume contest, we will jump aboard the hay wagons and proceed from the townsite to the campground for trick or treating – campers are encouraged to bring candy to pass out!
