Cause of Negaunee Township fire ruled undetermined
The source of a fatal late–January fire in Negaunee Township has been ruled undetermined.
The Michigan State Police 8th District Fire Marshall says the investigation was unable to determine the cause of the January 28th house fire on Hoist Road. The blaze occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. and claimed the life of 63–year–old Rosemary Juchemich, who was unable to escape and died within the residence.
Her husband, 69–year–old Daniel Juchemich, was able to exit the home and was treated for non–life threatening injuries. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire around 2:00 a.m. The house was deemed a total loss.
