Casperson will run for U.S. house seat

ABC 10 has learned through an e-mail that State Sen. Tom Casperson will make it official Monday morning that he’s running for the 1st Congressional District seat. The official announcement takes place at the Roland Machinery Company in Escanaba beginning at 9 a.m.
ESCANABA — ABC 10 has learned that State Sen. Tom Casperson will make a major announcement this coming Monday (11/9) about his future concerning the 1st Congressional District seat.
It’s been rumored for weeks that Casperson would run for the seat that will soon be vacated by Dr. Dan Benishek, who is not seeking re-election. Casperson has been a state senator since 2010. Before that he served in the Michigan House from 2002-2008.
ABC 10 will be on hand for the announcement Monday morning in Escanaba.
