A group of local gas stations is offering 5 cents off per gallon for those customers who pay with cash rather than with a credit card.

A loan officer with the Marquette Community Federal Credit Union says for many consumers, especially college students, sometimes scraping together enough cash for expenses can be a challenge.

However, Loretta Miller says that college students especially should be mindful of charging items such as gasoline to a credit card because they often don’t have the means of paying it off.
