HOUGHTON — The case against a Hancock man accused of attacking a woman with a knife took another step forward Monday.

Jeremy Vernon Looper, 41, appeared in Houghton County Circuit Court for a pretrial. Looper is charged with 1st degree home invasion which is a 20 year felony and assault with a deadly weapon which is a four year felony. He is currently being lodged in the Houghton County Jail on a $500,000 cash bond.
