LANSING — Those looking to save a few bucks while camping will have a unique option this summer at Michigan’s State Parks.

The Department of Natural Resources is continuing its camper storage program this season. Campers have the option to temporarily store their trailers, motor homes, or boats on trailers, in participating parks and recreation areas between visits for up to fifteen days.

The program is free, and it’s designed to help save fuel costs for those who frequent the parks through the summer. Numerous Upper Peninsula locations will take part this year, but space is limited.
