Camper accident investigation ongoing
Police in Negaunee are continuing their investigation of a one-vehicle accident that destroyed a camper. The accident happened at about 6:30 p.m. Friday on Marquette County Road 480, just east of Negaunee.
A man was hauling the camper with a pickup truck and crashed. The pickup truck was heavily damaged and came to rest on its side, with debris and gasoline spilled onto the roadway.
The man’s girlfriend was following him in another vehicle. She told ABC 10 at the scene that the camper began swaying shortly before the crash and may have caused him to lose control of the truck. The woman said that this was her boyfriend’s first trip with the camper after recently acquiring it.
No one was hurt. The Negaunee Fire Department, EMS, and the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the scene.
