Calumet woman arrested for OWI
CALUMET TOWNSHIP — A Calumet woman is behind bars for operating while intoxicated early Sunday morning.
Just before midnight, troopers from the Michigan State Police Calumet post say they responded to a one car personal injury accident.
A 56-year old woman was driving on US-41 near Haus Street in Kearsarge when she veered off the road and struck a utility pole.
She was treated for minor injuries at the scene. Investigation into the incident revealed that alcohol had been a factor in the crash, which led to her arrest.
She is currently lodged Houghton County Jail and her name will not be released until she has been arraigned. The incident is still under investigation.
