Calumet man arraigned on cocaine charge

A fifty-year-old Calumet man has been arraigned in 97th District Court in Houghton County on a felony drug charge involving cocaine.

Douglas Lloyd Loven faces up to twenty years behind bars and/or a $25,000 fine on a felony count of Controlled Substance Delivery – Manufacture of Cocaine less than 50 grams.

He was arrested August 14 after an undercover investigation by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team.

UPSET seized about one ounce of cocaine when Loven was arrested.

Loven out of jail on bond, but is due in court for a preliminary hearing October 7.
