Calumet High School hires new principal

CALUMET — Calumet High School has hired their new principal.

A familiar face will be returning to CLK Schools, this time as principal of the High School. The School Board has hired former teacher Christopher Davidson to replace retiring Principal George Twardzik, who announced his plans to step down earlier this year.

Davidson taught at CLK Schools for one year and was principal at Horizon’s Alternative School for six years. He has been the Chassell Township School’s Superintendent and K-12 Principal for the past year. But when the Calumet position opened up…it presented Davidson with a difficult choice.

“Both Chassell and Calumet have been wonderful experiences, wonderful districts, and so it made it a tough decision but I think really what it boiled down to-when you know you have two wonderful opportunities to work and two great districts-it kind of boiled down to what was the best fit for my family in our current situation and so we felt that returning to Calumet would be best for us,” said Davidson.

Approval of Davidson’s resignation by the Chassell School Board is still pending. The contract with Calumet High School is set to begin July 1st.
