Business owner upset after recent snowmobile trailer theft

SANDS TOWNSHIP — An Upper Peninsula business owner is very unhappy that a trailer containing two snowmobiles was taken right off his property.

Bob Taylor owns Adventure Centre at the corner County Road 480 and M–553 in Sands Township. A trailer containing two snowmobiles was stolen from the snowmobile and ATV store Sept. 5.

Taylor says that the stolen sleds belong to a customer that lives below the bridge. He estimates that the stolen trailer contains around $25,000 worth of merchandise.

“I think whoever picked it up knew what they were doing,”‘ said Taylor. “The trailer was locked up. How they got it I don’t know.”

“We give a lot back to the community because we live here, we’re local, Taylor added. “It really hurts when somebody steals something, it really does. If someone wants to borrow something, we’ll work with you or we’ll give you a deal. But just to come and taking something, they violated us too.”

The 7×12 trailer is a black 2013 Lightning, with Michigan plates D-O-1-3-2-9-7. A green and white 2013 Arctic Cat Sno Pro and a 2010 black and yellow Ski–Doo Renegade Adrenalin 800 are inside the trailer.

If anyone has any information on the trailer or the sleds, please contact the Marquette County Sheriff’s office at (906) 225–8434.
